Walter J. Chun, M.D.

Dr. Chun was born in Boston, MA and raised in Fredericksburg, VA. He earned his undergraduate degree from the Johns Hopkins University. After obtaining his medical degree from the University of Virginia, he completed his residency with Dr. Marks at the Medical College of Georgia. He moved to Richmond and joined the Pediatric Center in 1998. Dr. Chun is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He values forming long term relationships with his patients and their families. With a special interest in child and adolescent behavioral health, he is a member of the steering committee for VMAP (Virginia Mental Health Access Program) and is proud that the Pediatric Center offers a model of integrated behavioral healthcare. Dr. Chun was honored to serve as the Bundy Professor of Pediatrics at VCU/CHoR, where he continues to hold the title of Associate Clinical Instructor. He has also been awarded the Mickael M. Kannan Community Pediatric Teaching Award and the AOA Medical Student teaching award at VCU. Dr. Chun is married to his high school sweetheart and has three children. He is an avid sports fan and dog lover and enjoys exercising, traveling, and spending time with his family.
