Wanda was born in Blackstone, Virginia and has continued to live in Virginia her entire life. She has been a health care provider at the Pediatric Center since 1990. Wanda is an alumnus of MCV/VCU where she received a BSN and a MS with a dual major in Community Health and the Family NP Program. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the ANCC. She has served as a clinical preceptor for the Nurse Practitioner programs at VCU, University of Virginia, Old Dominion University and George Washington University. Wanda received second place in the Nurse Practitioner category in the 2013 Best Bedside Manner Awards, presented by OurHealth magazine. Her special interests are developmental pediatrics and health care of exceptional children. Married with grown children, she enjoys spending time with her extended family. She also enjoys theatre, arts and crafts, turtle collectibles and her Boston Terrier.
